Title: Time shown on forum
Post by: Belladonna on April 21, 2012, 10:37:22 AM
Well done! Yes, time can be altered on your own settings to what you want to see I believe. Lets all have another hour in bed now and then!  ;)

Oh, well actually I have changed it & its correct when I am logged in as its my own settings but when I log out or just have a quick look without logging on, its an hour behind. That must be the forum settings as mine are correct, could this be corrected please.

I have just this minute changed mine on my profile.......never really bothered me the hour difference, I just look at my clock/watch or in fact my laptop for the time!

Oh, so its not just me then. Its confusing though when the time of the posts is incorrect. Such a simple thing to change shouldn't be a problem to correct it surely?

OK see what you mean....when not logged in it goes back an hour.....think it's a SMF issue but like I say not a problem or confusing just glance down to bottom right-hand corner of my laptop and hey presto I have the correct time! ;D

I think this has been set as default for Spanish time.

No I meant it was confusing because the timing of all the posts are wrong. Not bothered about the time as I wear a watch.
It must be something that the moderators can change easily. Its the forum time that is set wrong. Doesn't look very good.
I can't understand the reluctance to change it

My apologies for making light of it which was I was actually doing  ;D, if it is really so important, not being defensive at all Tia....

Sorry! Ive got totally flumuxed by this and have created extra topic with the same name!!  Ignore the locked one, I just left it there to show how it all started!

Right, I will sort it out. Admin will press a few buttons. Cant promise which time will show when its altered, but it will different from what it is now - obviously!

OK. I have had a go at pressing buttons and pulling switches myself.  Looks ok to me now - UK time.  Reports back please!

Nope. It still goes back an hour if you are looking in and not logged in!  Will see if the Big Boys can change it.  :-\

I think Bloke has managed to fix it.  For some reason, they made it really difficult!  Anyway.  Its now set to UK time before you log in.  Those in the UK need do nothing further.  Those in Spain may need to add an hour if they haven't already done so.  Fingers crossed that it works.

On the subject of posts, from speaking to others, it may be that the time of the posts relate to how you've set your own profile.  When I post my weather report here in Mallorca, its usually around 9:00, but am I right that those of you reading it in the UK see the time of my report as 8:00?  (As if I'm gonna get up THAT early!).
