Transport & Travel / Ryanair hand luggage allowance 2017
« Last post by Mary Lorenzo on February 02, 2017, 17:06:15 PM »
Ryanair have made a recent announcement regarding being stricter on the size and weight of hand luggage, particularly backpacks.

Quote
WARNING FOR BACKPACKERS
Ryanair has advised passengers that if they fail to comply with new more flexible cabin baggage rules, tougher restrictions could once again come into force.

Currently passengers on the airline can bring one cabin bag weighing up to 10 kilograms with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, plus one small bag up to 35cm x 20cm x 20cm on board the aircraft.

But Ryanair’s marketing director Kenny Jacobs said many passengers had abused the system over the summer by trying to bring large pieces of luggage on board, especially backpacks. This delays flights and puts the airline’s punctuality record at risk, he said.

While Jacobs said the airline had improved its image with its Always Getting Better program, he said staff had been told to be especially vigilant when it comes to cabin baggage weighing over 10 kilograms and to ensure the second item of baggage is not oversize.

I've heard it is Toni from Casa Vila/Marina Brasserie taking over the premises on a rental basis.  Is that what you heard too?

Here is the link in Spanish for the event:- http://www.fam-ib.org/splash-in/splash-in-2017/

And here is a shaky translation of the same. :-)

For the 4th Splash-In 2017 , are going to make created the wish of the pilots that us visit, or that during a full day , can enjoy of their flights in the Bay of Pollensa. This year we have entitled it "IV Splash-In between the sea and the mountain", since are going to have the collaboration of the Aeroclub of Sabadell making a flight to La Cerdanya.  The programme that in principle we have prepared will be from April 28 2017, Friday, with the arrival of the hydros aat El Bonet, food and afternoon training flight to the port of Pollensa.
29 April 2017, Saturday, will be a day that we will devote to our visitors to enjoy their flights over our island, where we will prepare a series of routes , & also invite our friends wishing to do so that they can perform some flying seaplane  manoeuvres.  On April 30, Sunday morning, flight from Puerto Pollensa to the airport of La Cerdanya, food, afternoon visit to the village of La Seo and the evening dinner gala note, & we will invite all pilots of small planes and ULM that they want to come, so that they can add to this gathering.

We enjoyed a fab menu del dia in La Vall.  This place really doesn't disappoint!
We both had Cuban rice, followed by Roast chicken and saute potatoes and veg and then a dessert (or coffee) , all accompanied by wine, water and gaseosa.  Fab value at only 10 euros.
