THE LIONS ARE COMING TO POLLENSA !!

For several years two successful Lions clubs based in Calvia and Palma have provided valuable services to the local community. Helping to feed the hungry, assisting the homeless, the aged and those much less fortunate than our goodselves, plus financing various projects for orphaned and underprivileged children.

Members of Calvia Lions have commenced a campaign to establish a new Lions Club in the northern part of the island by the setting up of a branch of Calvia Lions in Northern Mallorca covering the areas in and around Pollensa and Alcudia.

The initiation meeting of a Lions Club for North Mallorca will take place on Monday 5th May at 19.30 at the Real Club Nautico Port de Pollensa "RCNPP" (The Yacht Club) an optional two plate dinner will follow. If you wish to attend to hear what Lions do for the community and support those in need and perhaps even become one of the founder members. Please contact Ronald Hawes if you would like to attend this meeting at e-mail ronaldmhawes@gmail.com or call 608531211.

Over recent weeks The President of Calvia Lions, Ronald Hawes has with the assistance of Sandra Hamill of Pollensa Care been seeking to identify persons male and/or female (age not important) who would be willing to give some of their time to assist in the formulation of a structure to organise the new Lions Club and thereby commence the organisation of fund raising events in the northern part of the island, for the benefit of children, the elderly and those much less fortunate than ourselves within the community. Whilst at the same time enhancing oneĀ“s own social life and achieving some level of personal satisfaction in serving the community. The motto of the Lions is to SERVE THE COMMUNITY.

A number of local residents have already expressed an interest, hence the initiation meeting on 5th May, detailed above, but in the words of Ronald Hawes we would always like a few more interested persons to attend and hopefully get involved.

HOPE TO SEE YOU ON 5TH MAY AT 19.30 at The Yacht Club in Puerto Pollensa
