Cyclists on the Pine Walk.
« on: May 08, 2014, 14:51:33 PM »
Or maybe it should be the "Pine Cycle Path!"
I don't know about other people but it gets through to me that, despite the fact that cycling is not allowed on the Pine Walk, the world and his dog are riding up and down in far greater numbers than I have ever seen. This doesn't only apply to the masses of lycra clad racers but to old and young alike on their hired bikes and of course, the locals. Sooner or later, if not already, a pedestrian is going to be injured in a collision, let's hope it will not be serious or, God forbid a child.

hehe - I have often had some very fiendish thoughts about dealing cyclists zooming up and down both the Pine Walk and the Anglada Camarassa esplanade.......

I agree with Tonsyl that it is potentially very dangerous!

Are there signs banning the riding of bikes along there?  If there are, maybe we should arrange for a Bonygraph march to the local Police Station to make a protest.....if we don't get run over on the way there!   :o ::) ;)

It certainly has become a nuisance, and a topic which is now causing a few moans when we sit for a cup of coffee and chat!  ;) 8) They do seem to consider it their right now, glaring at pedestrians to get out of the way! I  manage to keep hubby calm when driving and sharing the road with cyclists, most of whom are thoughtful, but some who are  not, but those on pedestrianized areas really are taking the mickey!  >:(

We really ought to take a leaf out of Andraixt's book and go to war on em !!!

See they are busing them into town and have erected portaloos to reduce the mass German pissing on the side of the road.

One such Fritz got fined 150 Euros for urinating in a public place !!!

Hopefully we'll be pissing on em in the World Cup

Yours , as PC, as ever

There do seem to be more and more every year... we had several near misses involving cyclists in April. (We'll try a bit harder next time.)

It's the riding two and even three abreast on a narrow country lane that most annoys me. I suppose it could be worse - at least it's not mass mobility scooters in PP (yet!).
