Tourist Tax 2016 in Mallorca
« on: January 08, 2016, 17:42:18 PM »
Pretty controversial and an absolute disaster the last time the Mallorcan Government tried to introduce it......

ECOTAX 2016: GREEN LIGHT TO THE NEW TAX.
The Government today approved the bill of the tourist tax, which involve charging a daily rate of between 0.25 and 2 euros for visitors over 16 years staying in regulated establishments.
Income tax, which is budgeted at 50 million euros in 2016, will go towards the improvement of degraded tourist areas and conservation of natural areas. A committee with representatives of social partners will determine the specific investments.

Received a text today which read GNAB ~ I think that is bang out of order. It doesn't matter if the glass is half full or half empty - there is clearly more room for more wine. I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.
