Health and Beauty
« on: August 05, 2011, 18:37:07 PM »
Most of us sort out all our beauty regime before we come out - waxing, hair colour, manicures, pedicures etc - and the women are even more high maintenance!
But if you are out for longer, or fancy a top up for something, where would you recommend, or advise to steer clear of, for various treatments?

I once had a facial at Son Brull when we stayed there, and was appalled at how lax they were with both client comfort and the actual treatment. I know that being in the business makes me slightly more critical, but I still found them below standard.

Going further afield, and obviously not one to pop into from PP, the standard at Reads Hotel in Santa Maria was beyond reproach.

Which ones stand out in PP - for any treatments?

Good question Bella!

I have only used the Japanese chappie who sits on or near the Pine Walk, for a Shiatsu massage (far too 'firm' to ever want to go back to him again! :o ) and also 'Pamper by the Pool'.

The Pamper by the Pool lady doing the massage treatments came to my apartment - we booked her for two hours and we each received a pleasant aromatherapy massage.  One of the big benefits was that we could all lounge about after the massage (ie no driving or walking home afterwards) so we could all relax nicely.  :)

Bella,

Have you tried Melanie in Roger de Flor ?

At the base of the Bressol apartments. She has her own saloon.

BLT has had a few facials there and highly recommends her.

Nailbars/Nail beauticians in PP?

Can anyone help please?   We've been asked by one of our Panda Online Directory readers where they can  find<quote>nail bar that does shellac nails for my wife</unquote>

I know that a lady used to go to WAVES  on c/ Mendez Nunez, twice a week to do nails etc., last year but not sure if she's still there and I can't seem to get hold of Shirley at the moment.

Does anyone know of another place in PP  or even Alcudia please ???

We pride ourselves in answering all our requests for help even if the places we find don't advertise with us  ::)      All part of the service ;D

Hope someone can help.

Can't help out in where, but just incase this helps; Shellac is a manicure that is basically gel overlays on to natural nails, Shellac uses the product OPI (very good product). There are other makes that do this manicure too - Jessica being one of them. So when looking out for help in this, a salon that advertises Gel Overlays or manicures may do the same treatment, although not use OPI product. Just a thought!  :)

Hi Girls!   Thanks for your help.  I haven't been able to come up with anything else other than 'Waves' so maybe no-one bothers with their nails in PP ???

If i DO find anymore info I will post it.

There are a few "mobile" therapists, but not sure about their treatments. Most seem to advertise for South of the island - definitely a lack in the the North, or at the very least, a lack of advertising!  ::)

I agree Bella - a definite shortage in the North of the island.  Maddening thing is - my middle grandaughter decided to try her luck out in PP about 5 years ago - as a beautician, her specialities being nails and eyelashes!! ::)   But she was 'before her time' and couldn't get a job anywhere.  She ended  by returning to UK which turned out to be a good move as she is now a very successful beautician with her own salon ;D and with more work than she can cope with.

Of course, a couple of days before I go out to PP she pampers me so I always arrive with my 'new' lashes and nails and feel like a million dollars ;D
Don't you  just love Grandaughters??? 8)
