The Sis Pins hotel has just posted a discount offer on fb for standard rooms in March & April 2012.

They haven't stated the 'special rates' but it might be worth a punt.

Thanks Mary. Ses Pins is such a lovely hotel in Puerto Pollensa, I'm sure any offers will be snapped up!

Well the lovely Sis Pins Hotel is open.. but strangely Cappuccino is not open at the moment.

I called in today and asked what was happening and it seems that the hotel is offering bed & breakfast still to their guests but nothing else (ie no bar service during the day or evening).

Cappuccino will re-open in March 2014 and normal service will be resumed.

That was always the fear unfortunately.  :-[ Other branches said they couldn't see them holding on just after Christmas. I think they are just a little bit too pricey for people out of season. One of the attractions of sitting there is the people watching in the sunshine, and that tends to be in slightly less supply this time of year! They could always be inside offering hot soup, chocolate and potatoe cakes though when it gets cold!  ;)

I can sit and people watch for free BD from the almost exact same spot, without being ripped off by over priced catering. I can also think of at least half a dozen places where, in my opinion, the coffee is better! Having said that, it is a shame that it has closed temporarily because the Port needs places to be alive at this time of the year.

I found this rather odd, as every time we've walked past there have been plenty of people partaking of their fodder!  It certainly seemed to be worth their while opening.

And it is such a strange decision to be closed for this week when the town is so busy!

But there you go!  And still plenty of other good places to eat and drink & carouse!  ;D

Hehe - sorry to disappoint BL, but that time does not feature on my clocks or watches  ;D

Some great bonfires have been built around the port......

There is a nice big one in front of Corb Mari which they are sharing with the  Miramar Hotel even though both places are closed  ::)

A substantial bonfire also by Marina Cafe/El Casinet. Their food and drink offer is 10 euros.
A medium sized one by Mulligans - and they have a good BBQ offer tonight for only 5 euros whereas Osteria has an offer including arroz brut for 15 euros.

No sign of 'Elf and Safety as friends of Circulo Cultural were chain-sawing up huge logs for their enormous bonfire in their protective short sleeved t-shirts  ::)

Nice neat bonfire in front of Nostalgia - and the promise of freshly cooked hot dogs etc there this evening, ls great music from The Fat Cats......

And finally a lovely cheap offer from Casa Manolo (formerly Can Torrens) just 2.50 euros for a tray of DIY BBQ fodod.

Lots more bonfires around the port.....should be a great evening!

Seems to get better every year. A lot of places now seem to do the DIY BBQ. Great fun if you are in a crowd! Have a great evening everyone!  :D

See in today's DB that Geoff , the managing partner, has done a deal with Cosmos for winter holidays at the Ses Pins. As a consequence there are the signs of more winter flights and Cappuccino opening thru Dec. then may do a partnership deal with another local restaurant.

Bravo, Geoff , for biting the bullet and taking the risk. The Bonygraph applauds your efforts and wishes muchas success !!!
