Muro Sant Joan church
« on: March 16, 2012, 19:04:10 PM »
For a photo and a piece I wrote about Muro's church last June, see the link below. There have been other pieces. Remarkable church. Genuinely inspires me. When you enter the main square in Muro town, it just so dominates everything. Extraordinary piece of architecture, and this is the church along and down which there is a cascade of fire at the Sant Antoni celebrations in January, which is also remarkable.

Good write up Andrew. Steve read it, then decided to read all your blogs! Certainly a church worth going to. It is good to know the history before you go to places rather than read it from a book whilst walking around - you tend to bump into things!  :o

Yes, enjoyed reading about Sant Joan Andrew.....one well worth a visit but will give the one in Puerto Alcudia a miss, I have  probably seen the like of it before! Your opening paragraph made me laugh......my eyes are always everywhere taking in all the splendour! :)  Then I go and light a candle! ;) ;)

Do you know, I can't even picture where the Puerto Alcudia one is!

Which says it all, Girlie. It is very easy not to notice. If you know the Little Britain supermarket and Comics Bar, the church is opposite.

Cant find any info for it myself. Will probably need a bit more directional help on that one Andrew.  Oh, and Steve now wants a guided tour of Muro church in May, but not on my birthday please!  8)
